Have you heard of Furoshiki? Furoshiki is the Japanese practice of wrapping things in a square of fabric to transport items or to wrap a gift.
Centuries old, this practice regained popularity after being promoted by the Japanese Minister of the Environment in 2006 as an eco-friendly alternative to plastic bags. It continues to be a growing movement in Japan and now worldwide.
Here at Splash Fabric, being conscious of the ways in which our daily lives impact the earth has been the foundation of our business from the start.
We love the idea of continuing that eco-consciousness through the holiday by offering our own version of Furoshiki!
You can buy a yard of fabric and cut it into any size you need. We have all kinds of patterns- cats and dogs for your favorite animal lover or our beautiful blue snowflake that's appropriate for any winter holiday.
We also have the Gifter's Bundle, which includes reusable furoshiki giftwrap and a bag large enough to transport presents for all your loved ones!
Give a gift where the wrapping is ALSO a gift- after the holidays the wrapping can be saved and reused for another gift OR kept as a splash mat OR made into something new! For post holiday fabric inspiration - click here.
