CUT & PREP YOUR FABRIC:
Step 1: Cut (2) Splash Fabric fabrics, each 20” by 13.5”.
Step 2: Fold each piece in half and place the folded pieces on top of one another lining up the folded seams on the same side.
Step 3: Place the tub pattern on the fabric against the folded seam with the cut out side facing away from you and the flat edge of the pattern directly flush with the bottom of the fabric.
Step 4: Cut along the pattern (be careful to align your stencil up parallel to the folded edge (you do not want to cut your folded edge).
**You can iron your Splash Fabric to get it wrinkle free and ready for sewing!
SEWING WITH YOUR SPLASH FABRIC:
Step 1: Lay your cut pieces of fabric right side up.
Step 2: Fold your fabric so the 11” sides meet with right sides together. (RST)
Step 3: Begin stitching the loose 11” side edges together. (Be sure not to sew the folded side).
Step 4: With the second piece of fabric repeat steps 1-3.
Step 5: Stitch the bottom of each piece of fabric.
Step 6: Close the box. Pinch the bottom corners of the tub that are not sewn yet. Pinch so that the seam of the “bottom” of the tub lines up with the seam of the “side” of the tub.
Please refer to pictures/videos for this step.
Step 7: Stitch the corner and repeat to the other corner.
Step 8: Repeat steps 6 and 7 for your second for your second piece of fabric.
*** Now you have sewn the 2 sides of your tub!
Step 9: Turn one tub inside out + fit inside the other, lining up the seams
Step 10: At the top of the tub, fold the lip of each fabric in (towards each other) about ½” creating a folded seam. Pin or clip folded edges together. Continue to fold in edges all around the top and pin.
Step 11: Cut 2 pieces black nylon cord or ribbon 5”. Burn the cut ends to seal. Make a loop out of each piece and tuck them into opposite sides of the tub and pin or clip.
Step 12: Top stitch the seam about ¼” from the top all the way around, removing pins as you go.
